About Me
Allow me to introduce myself:
Hi, my name is Andrew Yi. I grew up in Boulder, CO, and just graduated (Dec 2019) with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology. I have always sought to understand the world around me, why things are how they are, how they came to be, and what they can evolve into. Engineering conveniently answers many of these questions and is society’s toolkit to build the future.
My purpose in life is to provide better opportunities for those who come after me by taking advantage of the opportunities I have been given; to grow, experience, and thrive.
My goals stem from my desire for meaningful relationships and meaningful work. I am selective about what I do because I value my time and once I commit to something, I finish it. My passion creates the resilience and drive that allow me to overcome unexpected obstacles.
I am a consultant focused on operations based out of Atlanta! In the summer of 2019, I worked as an Incubator Intern at Black Lab Sports, a small VC in Boulder focused on Human Performance. In 2018, I spent 8 months interning at Tesla on two different teams. First with the Stator team in Drive Systems Manufacturing at Gigafactory 1 and then I moved to Battery Module Design at Headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. In 2017, I worked for 8 months at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) as a Spacecraft Mechanical Integration Co-op and 4 months at Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Advanced Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab (GTRI-ATAS) as a Mechanical Design Intern. I was abroad for the summer of 2016 in Paris, France as a Salt Cavern Research Intern at Ecole Des Ponts Paris Tech.
At Georgia Tech, I was a member of the Robotic’s Team (RoboCup), Martian Advance Renewable Systems Lab, and the Energy Geo-storage Lab. Life balance is important so I do also have a life outside of engineering! I played college lacrosse all 4 years, was the scholarship chair of my fraternity, and co-founded the Greek Sustainability Committee, a club focused on integrating sustainable habits into Georgia Tech’s Greek life.
When I make time for it, I enjoy reconnecting with nature, traveling the world, and reading.
Thank for you taking the time to learn more about me, I’d love to return the favor. Feel free to contact me!
Sincerely,
Andrew Yi
